ABC Family auditions and casting information for new series 'Strut'

Dark Toy Entertainment is the production company behind the new upcoming ABC Family series "Strut". The series will be part of a trio of new shows that the network is adding to it's lineup, the others being "Switched at Birth" and "Nine Lives". The network just concluded a record-breaking summer that included the debut of its new hit series "Pretty Little Liars", "Melissa and Joey", and the return of "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" and "Make It or Break It".

Norman Buckley will direct as well as co-produce. Buckly has directed such ABC shows as "Greek", "Make It or Break It", "Pretty Little Liars", as well as numerous other series and films.

Casting Society of America Artios Award nominated casting directors Brett Greenstein and Collin Daniel are currently casting the series regulars as well as recurring roles. Greenstein / Daniel Casting has previously cast the ABC Family series "10 Things I Hate About You", and the ABC Family telefilms "Happy Campers" and "Ex-Mas Carol".

Strut is a cast-contingent pilot. Cast contingent means that the pilot will not go ahead unless a solid lead actor is cast, in this case the role of Roxie Coker, a 30ish Las Vegas showgirl who has great dance skills and thinks-out-side-the-box.

Strut is under AFTRA contract. Any person who has performed or intends to perform professional work in any one of AFTRA's jurisdictions is eligible for membership. Professional performers, recording artists, or broadcasters can join online by clicking here.

Shooting will begin in late November or early December, 2010 in Los Angeles.

Roxy uses her background as a dancer to connect with the group of high school outsiders, specifically awkward teen Meg. When Roxy takes it upon herself to shape them into a bona fide strutting team of performers, she turns the town upside down in the process.

Bayonne Entertainment and ABC Family are currently in production on a new sci-fi romance television movie titled "Always and Forever". Rob Lee is executive at Bayonne Entertainment.
